so i write when i feel like it. sorta the reason the old harkjohnny.com site is no longer.
well, what’s happened since my last posting… the harvest home beer competition is a bit of a joke. they let the ‘guest judge’ willy cunningham take a swig of each one and also pull random people from the audience to help. I can just hear the comments for something like a big IPA …. ‘man, dat sure don’t taste nuthin’ like beer. it don’t even smell like bud light’. Good gravy, what a bunch of fucktards. I won’t bother next year.
we bought some apples from a local orchard and wifey made two killer pies with them. I had a bottle of Chimay Red left from Father’s day. So I popped the cork and enjoyed them together. not the perfect pairing but not terrible either!
hmm… what else. My IPA is just about tapped out. I really need to brew that one again because after dry-hopping it (or rather keg-hopping it) it turned out to be really damn good! Just a couple adjustments to be made but I’m really happy with it. I made a Belgian Dubbel on the 4th of Oct. It’s chilling and carbonating right now. No idea what to expect but hoping for the best.
